Vince and I traveled to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico for our Honeymoon and had the best time! We stayed at the Platinum Yucatan Princess, about 45 minutes from the Cancun airport, and our stay was fantastic!

The Platinum Yucatan Princess was about a year old when we visited in Oct. 2015 and is a modern, boutique-like, all-inclusive, all-adult property. The room was fantastic, the double rainfall shower room (yes, I said room – it was that big) was amazing, and the king bed in our swim-out room was so comfortable! Every thing from the oo-la-la tub in the middle of the room, to the double rainfall shower, to the honeymoon bottle of champagne left in our room, screamed that we were on our Honeymoon (adulting at it’s finest)!

We traveled to downtown Playa del Carmen during our visit and got to explore all of the unique shops and see all of the touristy trinkets, while still having H&M and Billabong familiars within reach. It was an odd combination, if you ask me. We enjoyed Senor Frogs for lunch, it being our first time traveling out of the U.S., we were going easy on ourselves and not wanting to test our luck with any of the local food. The LEAST appealing thing about visiting downtown Playa del Carmen was how all the shop vendors would stand outside of their shops trying to get you in their shops. No gracias, Senor.

On our Excursion day, we went on our Jungle Maya tour. Read more about our trip and see all of the pictures from our Jungle Maya adventures here. That day we also traveled to Tulum, where we explored the ancient ruins, swam in the Caribbean Sea, and drank really big Coronas. Which was incredible! Our All Tour Native guide Charlie was awesome! I would recommend this excursion to anyone that is up for some adventure!

Our honeymoon was one for the books! We had some incredible neighbors, from near and far, that we will never forget, who were there celebrating the same thing we were there celebrating – Love! It is a pretty incredible thing when you think about it.

We are blessed beyond measure! Excited to celebrate every moment with my incredible husband living this crazy, beautiful life. He’s pretty great and so is every day I get to wake up next to him! ❤

Jungle Maya All Tour Native

Vince and I explored Tulum and the Sac-Actun cenote system: the world longest underground river. We snorkeled in the Nohoch Nah Chiich cavern, surrounded by awesome rock formations and millenary stalactites and stalagmites. We rode through the Mayan rain forest on an all-terrain Mercedes Benz Unimogs. Rappelled into a beautiful cenote and swam in Yaxmuul, a unique natural pool. Enjoyed nature flying over the jungle’s foliage on exciting zip-lines and discovered a mystic cenote where we participated in a traditional Maya purification ceremony.

What an incredible experience for Vince and I. Both of us owning a passport but never having the opportunity to use them until now. Our first adventure out of the country, our first real adventure traveling together and getting to experience so many new and exciting things together as a married couple. We are very much looking forward to the many adventures we will encounter during our lifetime together. Life isn’t easy, it definitely has its ups and downs, but I can tell you one thing for sure: I cannot wait to live out this life with Vince by my side.

Beyond thankful for every instance of this crazy, beautiful life!
